Dear Mr. Sharma:

\J
Mr. Earnest has asked me to respond to your letter of
September 4 in which you asked about the manipulator you saw at
the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Stanford University.
I am the designer and developer of this manipulator, and have formed
a company to manufacture and sell this device, as well as another one
I developed at M.I.T.

Enclosed are specification sheets on our manipulators
designed for computer control.

Present prices for these manipulators are:

Model M.I.T. Arm- $8,700 -potentiometer version only
Model Stanford Arm- $17,500- potentiometer version
Model Stanford Arm- $19,000- encoder option on first 3
joints.

These prices include a six degree of freedom manipulator, a
hand, power supply, power amplifiers and other drive and sense
electronics, plus a simple manual controller. Not included is the
computer interface or the software, but the latest useful reference
information covering these areas will be supplied 4 to 8 weeks prior
to scheduled delivery.

	Delivery is 26 weeks ARO.\.
